Scaling fails at the handover points

Not in strategy. Not in effort. In handovers.
One operational insight I keep seeing:
Growth stresses the gaps between teams.
If you want to scale without chaos, focus on three things:
Define ownership at every transition
Who owns the job at each stage? Sales to ops. Ops to dispatch. Dispatch to finance.
Standardise inputs
If data goes into your ERP differently every time, reporting becomes unreliable fast.
Document exception handling
Growth increases complexity. If you don’t define what happens when something goes wrong, people improvise.
Improvisation does not scale.
When handovers are clear, throughput increases without adding unnecessary headcount.
Leadership gets visibility. Teams gain confidence. Errors reduce.
Scaling is not about doing more. It’s about reducing friction.
If your growth is creating bottlenecks, start by reviewing your handovers.
