Business owners often think process improvement has to be a massive overhaul. The truth? Lean thinking thrives on small, practical steps.
Here’s one that can save you hours each week: Standardise your file naming conventions.
Why it matters:
No more wasted time searching for the “latest” version.
Staff know exactly where to find and save documents.
Onboarding becomes easier, because new team members aren’t guessing.
Lean isn’t about adding more complexity — it’s about removing waste. In this case, the waste is the time and frustration caused by inconsistency.
Tip: Pick a simple format (e.g., ProcessName_Version_Date) and stick to it across the whole business.
What’s one small tweak you could make this week to remove wasted effort in your business?
