Ever wondered what really happens when we step into a business to streamline processes?

Last week, we visited the RXI Head Office and spent time with their Goods Receipting team. Instead of sitting behind a desk drawing up ideas, I rolled up my sleeves and walked through their process with them.

Here’s what we uncovered:

  • They had a solid way of working locally.

  • But another branch was missing some critical steps.

  • That gap was creating a ripple effect - slowing down Procurement and causing frustration in Finance.

By mapping out the process together, we built a clear, high-level overview to align practices across branches. And here’s where the lean lens came in:

✔️ We identified double-up tasks that could be phased out once training is in place.

✔️ We made suggestions to enhance the put-away phase, streamlining how goods move through the system.

✔️ The result: less rework, smoother handovers, and more confidence across the team.

The outcome?

✔️ Less confusion

✔️ Faster procurement follow up

✔️ Finance gets the right information on time

Sometimes the biggest wins come from simply seeing what’s really happening on the ground - then applying a lean approach to eliminate waste and unlock flow.

Business owners: would having a clear, lean playbook for your team free up your time and reduce bottlenecks?
